Using Restorative Practices to Foster Healthy Relationships and Promote Positive Discipline in Schools

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

In schools, Restorative Practices/Approaches are multifaceted in nature. Restorative practices include interventions when harm has happened, as well as practices that help to prevent harm and conflict by helping to build a sense of belonging, safety, and social responsibility in the school community. This workshop will provide an overview of the principles and practices of a school based restorative approach that results in a culture which is inclusive, builds fair process into decision-making practices, and offers a disciplinary paradigm shift that focuses on the harm done, rather than on the rule broken, in the restoration of relationships.
